Ī re-branded version of the FutureSplash Animator, released on December 18, 1996, under the name Macromedia Flash 1.0. Initial version of Flash released in May, 1996 with basic editing tools and a timeline. On June 16, 2020, as part of Adobe's 'Evolving Brand Identity', Adobe Animate unveiled a complete redesign of its logo in which, for the first time in almost 20 years, the main color was changed-from red to purple. Although Adobe Animate is moving towards web-standard file formats, Flash (.swf) and Air (.air) formats are still officially supported. The first version under the new name was released February 8, 2016. The move comes as part of an effort to disassociate the program from Adobe Flash Player, acknowledging its increased use for authoring HTML5 and video content, and an effort to begin discouraging the use of Flash Player in favor of web standards-based solutions. On December 1, 2015, Adobe announced that the program would be renamed Adobe Animate on its next major update. It was included as part of the Creative Suite of products from CS3 to CS6, until Adobe phased out the Creative Suite lineup in favor of Creative Cloud (CC). Adobe Systems acquired Macromedia in 2005, and re-branded the product Adobe Flash Professional to distinguish it from the player, Adobe Flash Player. In December 1996, Macromedia bought FutureWave and rebranded the product as Macromedia Flash, a brand name that continued for 8 major versions. (At that time, the only way to deploy such animations on the web was through the use of Java.) The FutureSplash animation technology was used on websites such as MSN, The Simpsons website and Disney Daily Blast of The Walt Disney Company. In 1995, the company decided to add animation abilities to their product and to create a vector-based animation platform for World Wide Web hence FutureSplash Animator was created. With the implosion of the pen-oriented operating systems, it was ported to Microsoft Windows as well as Apple Inc.'s Classic Mac OS. FutureSplash Animator was developed by FutureWave Software, a small software company whose first product, SmartSketch, was a vector-based drawing program for pen-based computers. The first version of Adobe Flash/Adobe Animate was FutureSplash Animator, a vector graphics and vector animations program released in May 1996. It was renamed Adobe Animate in 2016 to more accurately reflect its market position then, since over a third of all content created in Animate uses HTML5. It served as the main authoring environment for the Adobe Flash platform, vector-based software for creating animated and interactive content. It was first released in 1996 as FutureSplash Animator, and then renamed Macromedia Flash upon its acquisition by Macromedia. The developed projects also extend to applications for Android, iOS, Windows Desktop and MacOS. Animations may be published for HTML5, WebGL, Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) animation and spritesheets, and legacy Flash Player (SWF) and Adobe AIR formats. The program also offers support for raster graphics, rich text, audio video embedding, and ActionScript 3.0 scripting. Īnimate is used to design vector graphics and animation for television series, online animation, websites, web applications, rich web applications, game development, commercials, and other interactive projects. C++, ActionScript, JavaScript, Haxe, PythonĪdobe Animate (formerly Adobe Flash Professional, Macromedia Flash, and FutureSplash Animator) is a multimedia authoring and computer animation program developed by Adobe Inc.

Moving kings out of your way to reveal new cards is a big help when you get stuck. You also won’t find the aces in the deck to begin building the foundations if you’re not revealing as many cards as you can. Face-up cards open up more moves for you to play. If cards are not face-up, then they can’t be played. It’s the ultimate strategy for any solitaire card game variant - reveal as many new cards as you can as early as possible. Note that you may want to change it up ever so slightly to account for twice as many cards. If you’re familiar with regular Klondike solitaire and find yourself winning more games than you lose, then your regular strategy should work. What is the best strategy for winning Double Klondike Solitaire ? If you can’t make a move, use the waste pile : this opens up more moves and allows you to continue the game Stock and waste piles are included: use these for extra cards and to dump cards when you can’t make a move Only kings can move into empty tableau spaces. But to move a group of cards, these must be ordered by rank. You can move cards one by one or multiple at one time. Tableaus build in descending order, alternating color between red and black: the top card of each pile can be played on the foundation piles Regular Klondike rules apply to double Klondike solitaire, but nonetheless, the rules are as follows:įoundations must be built up in ascending suit order: e.g., Ace of Diamonds to King of Diamonds This version of the game is classic Klondike, but with twice as many cards, making it a little easier. For example, when you start a foundation pile with the ace of diamonds, you’ll finish it with the king of diamonds. Although, in the double version, there are more cards, so there are twice as many cards to move.Īll foundation piles must start with an ace and finish with a king, built in ascending suit order. The objective of double Klondike solitaire is the same as all other variants - move all cards to the foundation piles in the correct order to win. If you’re playing with real cards, be sure to remove the jokers from both decks before dealing a new game. If you’re playing an online game of solitaire, then the game is set up for you. The remaining cards are placed in the stock pile - these can be used throughout the game when you run out of moves. The top card of each tableau should be placed face-up with the remaining playing cards face down. The first tableau pile begins with one card, the second pile has two, the third three, and so on until you reach nine total piles. Unlike regular Klondike solitaire, where there are seven columns (known as the tableau), there are now nine columns. Waste pile : As you empty the stock pile, the cards you don’t place in the tableau make up the waste pile. Stock pile : This pile is the remainder of the deck that hasn’t gone into the tableau piles. They are shuffled and dealt before the card game starts. Tableau piles : These are the workable piles on the table. You’ll build them up as you go, usually starting with aces. Engage your mind while de-stressing with one of the all-time classic card games: solitaire. It stopped outside Number 3, Blenheim Road, the home of the Yeats family. GradeSaver, 26 June 2021 Web.On 30 January 1889, a hansom cab drove along a quiet, tree-lined street in London’s suburb of Chiswick. The speaker says that “now and in time to be,” these four men will be remembered, “Wherever green is worn.” The poem then ends with the same refrain: “changed, changed utterly:/A terrible beauty is born.” Next Section Character List Previous Section Poem Text Buy Study Guide How To Cite in MLA Format Sharpe, K. Then the poem names four of the rebels: Patrick Pearse (poet, educator, and commander-in-chief of the Irish Republican Brotherhood), James Connolly (leader of the Irish Citizen Army Volunteers), Thomas MacDonagh (activist and writer), and John MacBride (major in the Irish Republican Army and ex-husband of Yeats’s friend Maud Gonne). The speaker suggests that “our part /To murmur name upon name” as a mother might say her child’s name while rocking it to sleep. Yet the poem ends with the confirmation that they are still worth being remembered. He suggests that an “excess of love” for their country and their ideals has “bewildered” these revolutionaries. He also says that “England may keep faith” with its promise to grant Home Rule to Ireland, which would mean that all the sacrifice and death of the Easter Rising was unnecessary. In the last stanza, the speaker says that “Too long a sacrifice / Can make a stone of the heart.” He suggests that sacrificing oneself for a cause like this is too much of a burden. It does not live “minute by minute” like the “moor-hens” or the “horse.” It does not move at all. Unlike the “show of cloud” which “changes minute by minute,” the stone stands still. The natural state of the world is compared to a “living stream.” It ebbs and flows “through summer and winter.” Yet the heart of these revolutionaries stands still as if “enchanted to a stone.” There is something unnatural about the revolutionary’s heart. The third stanza shows the speaker’s ambivalence about the Easter Rising by using nature imagery. They have given rise to a “beauty” that is “terrible.” Yet her ex-husband is included in the poem anyway for “He, too, has been changed in his turn.” Just as the Easter Rising transformed Dublin in the first stanza, the second stanza shows that it has transformed the people involved in it. This is what is meant by the lines: “He had done most bitter wrong/To some who are near my heart.” Yeats was famously in love with Gonne. MacBridge was married to Yeats’s old friend Maud Gonne, whom he abused. The fourth person mentioned here is John MacBridge, a major in the Irish Republican Army. He was an activist, poet, and playwright. His “daring” and “sweet” helper is Thomas MacDonagh. The poem describes her “sweet” voice turning “shrill” from arguing, though she was also full of “ignorant good-will.” The person described as “this man” is educator and poet Patrick Pearse. The first mentioned is Constance Gore-Booth Markievicz, described here only as “that woman.” She was a suffragette and Irish nationalist who was involved in the rebellion, though she was not executed after being captured. The second stanza describes some of the people who fought in the rebellion. Yet with their deaths, the situation has transformed: “All changed, changed utterly:/A terrible beauty is born.” He made fun of them while sitting at a club or restaurant to make his companions laugh. Yet the speaker talked badly about these people behind their backs. They stopped in the street sometimes and engaged in small talk. He saw them in the street among “grey/Eighteenth-century houses” as they were leaving their workplaces. The poem begins by describing how the speaker had met many of these people previously. After they surrendered, the remaining rebels were shot by firing squad or executed by hanging. After six days, hundreds of rebels were killed in the fighting. This event took place when Irish Republicans seeking to break off from British rule staged an uprising in the heart of Dublin. “ Easter, 1916” describes the Easter Rising. Tarts, which are pastry that is comparable to sugar and light, make an excellent dessert. The tart is then baked in a pan with a removable bottom. The filling can be made with fruit, chocolate, cheese, or custard. The dough is usually made with flour, butter, and sugar. A tart is a type of pastry that is made with a sweet or savory filling. To remove a tart from a tart pan, use an inverted metal mixing bowl or a small drinking glass with a wider base that will fit around the tart ring the number one trick is to use an inverted metal mixing bowl or a small drinking glass. A pie and a tart are both fairly similar in appearance and style, which makes it much easier to make your own when you need to use a pie pan. The bottom of a non-removable bottom tart pan is removable, allowing you to use it like a pie plate. This method works well for full- size tarts such as the raspberry chocolate tart or the Earl Grey chocolate tart. The ring must be carefully removed from the tart and down the stand after it has been placed on the object. How do you remove a tart off of a pan? A sturdy, free-standing object with a diameter slightly smaller than the bottom hole should be found in the pan. This was one of the techniques I learned while enrolled in the Le Cordon Bleu program. If you are concerned that your tart will stick to the pan, grease and flour it before baking it. Tart pans come in a variety of finishes that allow you to unmolding your tart easily. Tart pans are available in a variety of sizes, ranging from one piece to two. Tart pans have a straight, vertical edge to them and are frequently not made with a rim. You must bake in the appropriate tart pan, but you can use any type of pan you want. You risk ruining your recipe if you remove a tart pan from a tart pan. Finally, bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Next, add your desired filling to each puff pastry. Place the circles into the mini muffin tin. Next, cut the puff pastry into small circles using a biscuit cutter. First, Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). You can make mini tarts without a tart pan by using a mini muffin tin. How To Make Mini Tarts Without A Tart Pan What Can I Use Instead Of A 9 Inch Tart Pan? In the case of quiche pans, you’d be better off using pastry pans in place of quiche pans. Growing up as a child, she spent much of her childhood learning the fundamentals of baking in a local bakery, her father’s profession. She is the founder of Baking Kneads, LLC, which publishes blogs featuring sharing guides, tips, and recipes for those who want to learn how to bake. Because they both rely on a crust at the bottom, quiche pans fit into the space between pie and tart. Although pie plates do not have a removable bottom, they do come in a similar shape to springform pans. If you have a spare springform pan lying around, you could use it to replace your tart pan. If you make a muffin tin or similar, make sure you use other types of baking. Tarts are typically large and can be very tasty if they are baked in a small pie pan. There are other ways to achieve the same look without necessarily including it in your kitchen. Tarts, on the other hand, retain their classic appearance when baked in a tart pan. Tarts do not always need to be perfectly circular in order to be made if this is your case, try different ones. If you click on one of the links, I may earn a commission as a thank you for doing so. Bake the tart for 10-15 minutes, or until the filling is set. Once the tart dough is cool, fill it with your desired filling. Remove the tart dough from the oven and let it cool. Transfer the dough to the baking sheet and trim the edges. Roll out the tart dough on a lightly floured surface. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. But what if you don’t have a tart pan? You can still make a tart! Here’s how: 1. Most tarts are made in a tart pan, which has straight sides and a removable bottom that makes it easy to get the tart out of the pan in one piece. It also allows you to watch the propagating process unfold, making it an exciting gardening experiment for experienced gardeners and new plant parents. The most popular method of propagation is via cuttings in water due to its simplicity and quick results. Propagating in Water Adding cuttings to water is probably the simplest method of propagation. Follow these easy methods and you will have a brand new String of Hearts in no time. The method you choose will largely depend on your preference. There are four different options when propagating String of Hearts – in water, in soil, from tubers, and within the same pot. This allows you to anchor the vine into the soil and hold it steady to encourage new root growth. You can trim them off later once growth is strong.įinally, to propagate in the same pot, all you’ll need are small pins or paper clips. Plant the tubers in the pot of propagating mix first while still attached to the plant. Many gardeners have also seen success by laying cuttings in sphagnum moss.įor tuber propagation, you’ll need the same tools – just in a different order. A combination of coconut coir (or peat moss) and perlite provides the least resistance to root growth. However, you’ll also need a brand-new pot and a propagating mix to root the cuttings. Propagating in soil starts off with the same tools. You can also take longer cuttings if you need to rest them on the side of a large glass. A glass propagating station is recommended to keep the top part of the vines out of the water. Clean them before use to remove any harmful bacteria. To propagate in water, you’ll need a sharp pair of pruning shears or even sharp scissors. What you prepare will differ slightly based on the method you choose. You do not need specialized tools to propagate String of Hearts. Materials You’ll Need A proper potting mix that is well-draining is important when propagating String of Hearts. Choose the one that suits you best, or try them all at once for a bounty of String of Hearts plants. Ultimately, all methods are simple to follow and lead to reliable results. This is one of the only houseplants this method is viable for so it does make an exciting garden experiment if you want to give it a go. Once rooted, you can trim them to hang as normal, or you can pull any extra cuttings you don’t need to plant in a separate pot.įinally, if you’re lucky enough to have a String of Hearts with tubers growing along the vine, you can also use those to propagate new plants. Propagation can also be used to make the existing plant appear fuller by looping the vines back into the soil to develop roots. Rooting in soil also means you can skip the transplanting step, but does take some of the fun out of propagating – watching the roots grow. Rooting in water lets you keep track of the root growth while rooting in soil tends to produce stronger initial roots more accustomed to soil conditions. They can be taken almost any time and any cutting you remove, even when pruning, can be used to make a new plant.īut you’ll have to decide between rooting in water or in soil. Rooting cuttings in water or soil, rooting within the same pot or a nearby pot, or even propagating from tubers grown along the vines are all viable options.Ĭuttings are ideal if you’re looking to make a full and healthy new String of Hearts plant. With so many propagating options, it can be hard to decide which one is best. Which Propagation Method is Best? Most methods of propagation work just fine and it is hard to determine which one is best. The method you choose will depend on the size of your plant and your ultimate propagating goals. We’re going to look at four of the ways you can propagate your String of Hearts with a high success rate. Propagating the vines can also make your existing plant fuller if it begins to appear sparse. This can be done over and over until it reaches the desired size and shape. Almost any cutting you remove, whether with the intention of propagating or even when pruning, will root quickly to produce a standalone vine.īut propagation doesn’t always have to involve making brand-new plants. You can grow as many vines as you can take care of, filling your home with hanging vines of cute hearts. Propagation efforts generally have a high success rate too, no matter the method you choose. In fact, due to the growth habit of the vines, there are more ways to propagate String of Hearts than most plants. Much like the beloved indoor plant Pothos, the vining nature of this houseplant makes it easy to propagate this succulent in a number of ways. Its common name truly says it all – heart-shaped green and purple leaves appear on long vines that are easy to train along objects. String of Hearts, scientifically known as Ceropegia woodii, is an adorable vining plant native to Southern Africa. Propagating String of Hearts This vining plant has small heart-shaped leaves that give this plant its name. You can find these, as well as many other beautiful garter belts and stockings at. There are coordinated bullet bras, slips, camisoles, silk thongs, tap pants, and wraps in the Dominique Collection. I kept stealing glances in mirrors all night and smoothing my skirt more than I had to, just so I could touch my stockings again! But really, experimentation is half the fun and you gain so much from nylon’s sheerness. Nailing down your fit may be a bit trickier because of this, and sometimes a long night may cause the stockings to fit differently around the knees and ankles over the hours. One consideration when wearing nylon stockings is to realize that there is no lycra or spandex. If you want even more retro glamour, you can try their fully fashioned stockings, which I discussed in a previous article. The vintage-style 100% nylon stockings are silky smooth, sheer, and made my legs look amazing! The ones I wore were the Secrets In Lace Signature RHT stockings, which are produced on a circular loom (so there is no backseam). I fell just as hard for the stockings I wore with the belt. I can’t have only one of these in my wardrobe! Honestly, I cannot think of one thing I disliked about my Dominique garter belt! In fact, as soon as I’m done writing this article I’m going to order the Intrigue, which is made from the same pattern. I loved the little details worked into this supportive garter belt, like the hold-down threads that keep the ribbons in place. The metal garter grips didn’t move a bit once I secured them, and were a snap to adjust. The garter belt has a five secure hook and eye closures, and three columns for adjustment (like your bras). I was absolutely comfortable all night, and not once did I worry about anything slipping or being out of place. I was thrilled to find that the both the stockings and garter belt stood up to a full night of walking, sitting, and climbing on a bar’s arcade games (as glamorous as I felt, the kid in me still found it impossible to resist those games!). I wore it out the very next night with Secrets in Lace’s Signature RHT (reinforced heel and toe) nylon stockings. I looked in the mirror, and was relieved and pleased to find that it didn’t feel big or utilitarian at all! I felt very glamorous and classic (and secretly, I decided that it looks even better on me than it does on the model). I can tell that this is a start of a new lingerie addiction for me, and I’m excited!Īs soon as the package arrived at my door, I raced to try on my new garter belt. When I asked Secrets In Lace for advice, they offered to send their Dominique garter belt for me to try, and I am thrilled to report back that this is one of the best pieces of lingerie I’ve worn in a long time! I feel enlightened in a way that can only be compared to the way I felt the first time I bought a real quality bra in my correct size. Still, I have never really been drawn to any six-strap garter belt. The ones I already have just were not doing the job of standing up to a night out, and I was tired of being disappointed. I had heard so many good things about Secrets In Lace garter belts, and I have been looking for a real, quality garter belt.
